DEEPAVALI CELEBRATION AT PCCC

DRESSED in spanking new traditional clothes, 13 children from Peace Children Care Centre were all smiles and laughter as they played with fireworks during their Deepavali celebration.

The event also saw the children enjoying a sumptuous dinner.

This was followed by some songs and dances put up by the children for centre staff members, caretakers and board members.

Later, the board members also entertained the children with a traditional dance performance.

PCCC chairman Mr. Alagesan Ayaru said that due to the conditional movement control order (CMCO), they decided to hold a rather low-key celebration for the children this year.

“At the same time, we wanted them to enjoy the true meaning of the festival and have new clothes and good food to mark the auspicious day, ” he said.

Before the event ended, the children were each presented with angpow packets.

Present at the celebration were PCCC vice chairman Mr. Nick Ng Shu Lin, treasurer Ms. Yeam Chiew Na and board members Ms. Wendy Koay and Mr. Sailesh Maganlal Timbadia.
